Apparent Project…
Haitian parents struggle every day to feed themselves and their children. Many choose to relinquish their children to orphanages simply because they cannot afford to feed them. In order to give these families dignity, hope and a chance to stay together, The Apparent Project helps these parents learn creative skills in jewelry making, bookbinding, sewing and decorative crafts.
The Apparent Project artisans use discarded materials such as cereal and cracker boxes to create beautiful “upcycled” pieces of jewelry. These Haitian artisans are also bringing new hope to their families, employing themselves for a brighter future and earning the means to pay for their children's food, shelter, and education. That means fewer orphans, less crime, less garbage, less stress, and a whole lot more beauty.
You can visit the Apparent Project online at www.apparentproject.org or email sheree_henson@yahoo.com to see how you can help or how you can own a piece of Apparent Project jewelry for yourself.
Thank you for helping Haiti trade its’ ashes for beauty.
